Audio Description
The Etia Visionary Mascara comes in a soft, periwinkle silicone tube, its shape inspired by perfume bottles. The top is a smooth, cylindrical cap that twists off, sitting above a faceted base with flat sides - giving it a distinctly different feel so you always know which end is which.
On the front of the base, a narrow window lets you feel the slight recess where the bottle containing the mascara is visible so you can see the shade. Run your fingers around the base and you’ll find braille on two sides: 'Mascara' down the left and 'Etia' down the right. Flip to the back and you’ll find the Etia logo embossed into the surface.
On the very top of the cap sits a raised Universal Tactile Symbol identifying it as mascara. And at the bottom, a concertina label holds a NaviLens code for additional digital accessibility.
The wand: The cone-shaped brush measures 2.5cm, set on a 1cm wand.
How To Apply
How To Apply
Before you start, make sure your mascara wand is loaded but not overloaded. Open the tube and wipe one side of the wand against the inner rim - this stops clumping and drips.
Finding your lashes:
Use your non-dominant hand to gently anchor yourself. Rest a fingertip lightly on your cheekbone just below your eye - this gives you a spatial reference point. For upper lashes, look (or tilt your head) slightly downward so your lashes rest against the skin just below your brow bone. You can gently touch that area to feel where they are.
Applying:
Place the wand at the base of your lashes - you’ll feel a very slight resistance when you hit the lash line. Wiggle the wand gently side to side as you slowly draw it upward toward the tips. That wiggling motion coats each lash rather than just dragging product to the ends. Alternatively, you could hold the wand steady and slowly blink onto the product.
Do two or three passes before the coat dries for more coverage. Once the formula is dry on your lashes, avoid applying more as this can make it clump.
Avoiding mess:
Keep a cotton bud or clean spoolie within reach. A cotton bud with a tiny bit of micellar water fixes any smudges cleanly without disturbing the rest of your makeup.
